Savio Otis is the owner of The Nordic Shop.
Savio is a level IV C.A.N.S.I., the highest certification in the Canadian Association of Nordic Ski Instructors and, also a member of the Association Canadian of Mountain Guides.
Savio has more than 35 years of experience in the ski industry and is a former member of the Canadian Interski Demo Team.
He has traveled extensively in North America and Europe, instructing and participating at some of the renowned World Loppet Marathons and the prestigious Canadian Ski Marathon (160km).
His enthusiasm for cross country skiing is contagious and loves to share it with people.
Camille Cheskey is our very appreciated Ski-Tech. Training hard but also working hard, Camille brings the racing knowledges to the Shop and to our clients. Camille started his cross country ski journey with the highland Trailblazers club in Ontario and had been training with the Callaghan Valley Training Centre for the season of 2009/2010 and now he has is own coach to bring him to the next level while finding the balance between race and work.
Camille has been involved with The Nordic Shop since the fall of 2009, working with sales and Ski Service, and instructing. He is currently working on finishing his NCCP level one Coaching certification, and is actively involved in the Sea To Ski Nordic Skiing community. His wealth of knowledge from racing, coaching, waxing, and ski service ensures the quality service to our customers.
You'll see "Jen" serving you at the shop at certain time, in the waxing support team on other occasion or as you know her best, racing to the finish line as fast as possible. She has the GUT!
An accomplish skier Wayne Smith comes from a road cycling background. Former member of the National Canadian Cycling Team, Wayne converted himself into cross country skiing long time ago. Teaching cross country skiing in Ontario and skiing hundreds of kilometers every winter he, now, has the legs for the skis and loves the West Coast. Wayne will be happy to serve you at the shop or go for a spin with you at the Whistler Olympic Park, just ask him!
Claude with is racing and coaching background from Europe is our technical adviser, the one assigned to test and help develop new faster grinds for any snow conditions. Any clues on which kick wax you need for that day - HE IS THE MAN - He's gonna find you the best kick you ever imagine! Guarantee.
Our "Biathlon Guy". Former member of the National Canadian Biathlon Team, Glenn Rupertus has participated at three Olympics: Nagano, Lillehammer and Albertville, under the Canadian flag. His racing level and high coaching knowledge bring our team service to the next level. Would you like to meet him and receive some technical advises, come at our Wednesday Night Come Glide with Us at the Whistler Olympic Park at 7pm sharp! He will be happy to spin you out for a couple loops. Promise!
