The Famous Tazzari RP23 skis grinder has arrived!
Savio is grinding his skills on the brand new Tazzari
The Tazzari machine has been designed by Lars Svensson who has worked with the manufacturers for over fifteen years to refine the capabilities of the equipment. During that time Lars has provided grinding services to the world's best skiers. He worked exclusively with the Norwegian National Team during the heyday of Daehlie, Ulvang and Alsgaard. After the 1998 Nagano Olympics he worked with Sweden and Germany. And all that time he worked with Tazzari to refine the equipment that he needed to make the fastest skis in the world.
Lars came at the Nordic Shop from Europe, last week, to set up the machine and give us the best of his knowledge about skis grinding. Lars is still on high demand this year at the World Cup tour to grind skis for the best skiers.
The RP-23 is designed to be a nordic specific ski grinder. Tazzari makes one stone for nordic skis, and it is the best in the industry. Lars Svensson has made his own proprietary diamonds, designed to work with the Tazzari nordic stone, which are manufactured for him exclusively. All things considered, it's no wonder that the Tazzari machine accounted for the majority of the grinds for the Olympics at the Callaghan Valley and is part of our Canadian National Team best 'SECRETS'.
At this time we a able to offer you to choose between more than 25 different grinds, from universal to more specific for a particular snow condition. Each grinds have been tested at the 2010 Winter Olympics at the Callaghan Valley or/and at the World Cup level.

The Whistler Nordic Shop was in attendance at the 2nd round of the 2011 BC Coast Cup which took place on Jan 8th 2011. Camille was waxing skiis, giving technical advice and racing. The New NNN Xcelerator binding

NNN has completely re-designed their NIS bindings for both skate and classic. The new NNN Xcelerator bindings drop 40% of the weight of the previous generation, are stiffer and have a wider platform. Because these are NIS bindings, the old R4 bindings can be easily replaced with the new Xcelerator. Flex plates are easily swapped out and come in 3 stiffnesses.
In addition to the new platform offering a stiffer, more stable base, the catch mechanism actually pulls the boot forward into the flex plate, which stiffens up the connection between the boot and binding and makes it feel much more positive and smooth. The boot is grabbed at two points of contact to lock down the boot bar, where previous generations had some play in them due to a single, sloppy connection.
